At the Transformation Center, we often say that fitness is just the beginning. And recently, that message was spotlighted when co-owner and longtime coach Liz Grosspietsch was featured in the Wisconsin State Journal. Her words captured the heart of who we are—and why we do what we do.
If you’re exploring a new beginning or looking for a sustainable way to continue your fitness journey, this post will give you an inside look at how our programs, including Killer Kurves (K2), do more than change bodies—they change lives.
Fitness That Starts With You
“I do believe that there is a way that fitness fits into everybody’s lives,” Liz shared in the interview. That’s not just a philosophy—it’s how we run every class, design every movement, and meet every member who walks through our doors.
Whether you’re someone who’s never stepped into a gym or someone returning after years away, our programs are built around inclusion, personalization, and purpose. We modify every workout to suit different needs, bodies, and goals. You’re not expected to “keep up.” You’re encouraged to show up—and we’ll take it from there.
From Struggle to Strength—Physically and Mentally
When Liz first joined the Transformation Center 15 years ago, she wasn’t a coach—she was a stay-at-home mom looking for a reset.
That’s when she found what she calls a “lifeline”: “I learned so much about myself—not just physically, but also mentally.” Over time, that spark evolved into a mission: to pay it forward by becoming a trainer and eventually a co-owner. Today, that same sense of strength and renewal runs through every class we offer.
“Every day when you’re in the gym and you maybe push for one more rep, you’re just creating more fortitude. And to be able to carry that through into the rest of your life is so important.”
Science agrees. Studies show that resistance training not only builds lean muscle and supports joint health, but also increases self-efficacy and resilience—the mental “muscle” to persevere through life’s challenges.¹
At K2, our community learns how to safely build both types of strength: the kind that helps you carry groceries up the stairs, and the kind that helps you say yes to a family hike, a new job, or a long-overdue act of self-care.
More Than a Workout—A Place to Be Seen and Supported
We call ourselves the “Un-Gym” because we are intentionally different.
“It’s the most unintimidating place and the most loving and caring place that we can be,” Liz said.
That difference starts with how we treat people. From the moment someone walks into a K2 class, they’re met with support, not pressure. Our bonus 15-minute mindset and habit change discussions are one example of how we go deeper than reps and sets.
“I think so many people are such caregivers… to have that kind of time where people can take care of themselves in an extra special way fills my heart over and over again.”
We talk about nutrition, stress, emotional eating, sleep, recovery, and boundaries—all of which play a major role in fat loss and well-being, especially for adults navigating the demands of family, work, and aging.
The real magic? The community.
Whether it’s cheering each other on after a tough workout or grabbing coffee after class, K2 builds friendships and confidence that extend far beyond the gym. This is supported by research showing that community-driven fitness environments improve long-term adherence and outcomes.²
Confidence That Translates to Life
What happens in class doesn’t stay in class—and that’s exactly the point.
“Maybe you picked up a set of weights you didn’t think you could. And you do that again… and that builds the confidence to do things out in the world that you didn’t think you could do otherwise.”
We love when members tell us about the “after moments”: lifting a grandchild off the floor without pain, going on a bucket list trip, asking for that raise, or finally feeling proud of what they see in the mirror. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up, doing the work, and letting growth take root in every part of your life.
Our Invitation to You
Whether you’re in your 30s, 50s, or 70s, starting over or starting fresh, you deserve a space where you’re supported, seen, and celebrated.
As Liz put it:
“If you just show up, we will take good care of you, and the community will lift you up.”
If that’s the kind of fitness family you’ve been looking for—come see what makes us different. Come meet the people who will cheer you on, adapt for your needs, and remind you just how strong you already are.
Our next Killer Kurves session begins July 7th. Reach out to schedule a free trial or just stop by and say hello. Your lifeline might just be waiting.
